Nights on Safari

Scott Goetz

Hi! Thanks for checking things out. I’ll be quick.

I’m Scott Goetz, a writer and entertainer who’s spent nearly two decades writing and filming about luxury and adventure travel. Usually I’m on assignment for Robb Report and Elite Traveler while also contributing to other magazines such as Town & Country and the “World’s Best Lists” of Travel + Leisure and Conde Nast Traveler.

Stories chronicling my adventures include hiring a private plane to find the Best Pub in the Outback for Men’s Journal; rescuing passengers from a sinking ship in Antarctica for Outside; and refereeing couples as a third-wheel Honeymoon destination consultant for Modern Bride and Brides.

There’s nowhere I’d rather be than on safari. I’ve spent over 500 nights in the African bush where I once got lost, stole a kill from a lion and ate it.

The Show

My goal as the Fierce Traveler is to share fun, engaging, experiential travel that excites a television audience to explore the world fearlessly .

I’ve worked with Virgin Produced, 3 Ball Entertainment, Tom Shelly/Steele Mill (Exec. Producer of Survivor & Get Out Alive with Bear Grylls) and NBC/Universal.

The Site

After a year of covid and not being able to travel, I am turning to my footage for travel inspiration – crazy, unbelievable stories from the road and 2,000 hours filled with moments to tell them.

I’ve created this site so the footage can live with articles to provide context, offer highlights and links for deeper discovery.

No one really knew what we were up to and to keep it going, I never put it out…until now.

The Mission

I want to take you on a ride into the outrageousness of our world, pique interest in places you might not know and, hopefully, inspire you to connect to these destinations once we all can travel again.

The Team

Filming was always run & gun, mostly unplanned, and often undercover. We focused on the fun stuff, made it fun when it wasn’t, and left the luxury to shine in the magazines for which I was writing.

I couldn’t do it without these guys. They are all so talented. Check them out in the links below
